Overview

Infosys BPM Limited is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our dynamic team in Mysore. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing supplier invoices, resolving disputes, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities

As an Accountant at Infosys BPM, your primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supplier Invoice Management: Register and process supplier invoices while investigating any disputes that arise on a daily basis.
  • Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports using Excel, addressing any open queries that may emerge during the reporting process.
  • Reconciliation: Conduct reconciliation of supplier statements, manage disputes effectively, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Document Management: Archive and file documents in accordance with local legislation, ensuring proper record-keeping.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Business Development Managers, Product Specialists, and vendor contacts to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Pipeline Management: Maintain and manage the pipeline for opportunities within defined criteria and account base.
  • Customer Support: Assist your accounts in resolving queries, providing excellent customer service.
  • Vendor Relations: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with vendor personnel, ensuring clear communication.
  • Self-Development: Take responsibility for your own professional growth by enhancing product knowledge and job competencies.
  • Accounts Payable Coordination: Process and verify less complex invoices, including payments for necessary expenditures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Data Entry: Accurately enter data for invoices, resolving discrepancies related to general ledger coding, approvals, or potential duplicates.
  • Payment Processing: Prepare and process accounts payable checks, wire transfers, and ACH payments.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate AP-related processes and status to both external and internal suppliers, both written and verbally.

Candidates should possess the following skills:

  • Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (both spoken and written).
  • Adaptability: Fast learner with the ability to quickly understand new systems and processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on detail and multitasking abilities.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Numerate with a solid understanding of accounting principles and adept in Supply Chain Management accounting (preferably within the electronic industry).
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Educational Requirements

  • Degrees: Bachelor’s in Commerce (BCom), Business Administration (BBA), or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
